This past week I have spent a lot of time in prayer; asking God about what he wants me to do here. To my surprise He made it evident that I should do my internship at the hospital! This is definitely out of my comfort zone, and yet I am excited to see what God has in store.

From day 1,God has been opening doors to make things possible. We were able to enter the hospital with ease. (In Mexican hospitals there are guards at the door, and often times they will let only one family member, for a patient, in at time. There is a big process that goes in to gaining permission to be able to regularly enter.)

Yet for us, we were able to walk right in. My leader talked to the head nurse about the types of things we could do. (There are three of us working in the hospital.) She said she did not want us doing anything other that talking and praying with the patients. We have her full support!

Our first official day there was on Friday. I was nervous because we did not have leader going with us and I am the only one in the group that can speak Spanish, and I am definitely not confident in it. Again, we left it to the Lord and everything ran smoothly! We were able to take a tour to see the parts of the hospital that we are allowed to work in. We spent the rest of our short time there building relationships with a few patients.

All of the nurses and the few patients that we talked to met us with so much kindness and grace that it was a real blessing to us and our nerves.

Right now I am looking forward to Church tomorrow night, working in our internships next week, and beginning our outreach. Every day is a step of faith and every day God has not disappointed.

Thank you so much for your prayers! God has been present and caring ever step of the way. Poco a poco (little by little) I am learning the language, developing relationships, and having a greater understanding of how AWSOME our God really is!
